Mechanization of web design guidelines evaluation

چکیده
The systematic evaluation of Web design guidelines poses a series of challenges, including the ability to accurately interpret them and to transform them into a mechanized way that is machine processable. Systematic or automatic evaluation is particularly useful when the web site to evaluate across the designated guidelines is a large-scale, information-rich, potentially distributed web site (very-large web site). This paper attempts to analyze various ways to mechanize the evaluation of some design guidelines towards automated evaluation and identifies some shortcomings.

متن کاملA Framework and a Language for Usability Automatic Evaluation of Web Sites by Static Analysis of HTML Source Code
Usability guidelines are supposed to help web designers to design usable sites. Unfortunately, studies carried out that applying these guidelines by designers is difficult, essentially because of the way of structuring or formulating them. One possible way to help designers in their task is to provide them with tools that evaluate the designed site (during or after design) and alerts them about...
متن کاملA Human Factors Approach to the Design of Traffic-Information Web Sites
At least 30 major cities and metropolitan areas in the U.S. have implemented real-time traffic-information web sites to provide pretrip traffic information. Although many web-sitedesign guidelines exist, no design guidelines were found specific to the construction of traffic-information web sites. The project upon which this paper was based set out to develop such guidelines. In the process, 4 ...
